Tired of looking older but not quite ready to commit to a facelift? Our experienced team of cosmetic surgeons can provide you with similar, long-lasting results without the downtime.
Facelift surgery is considered to be one of the best ways to get a dramatic reduction in drooping facial skin and deeply etched lines—and though many non-surgical options have arisen over the last few years, nothing can quite compare. But what about those who are just starting to notice these signs of aging and aren’t quite ready for a drastic step?
Our talented team of cosmetic surgeons are proud to offer the Silhouette InstaLift™, a minimally invasive facelift alternative that lifts sagging tissues for an instantly refreshed and refined look.
What is Silhouette InstaLift?
The Silhouette InstaLift is a minimally invasive procedure that uses specially designed sutures to both instantly lift the face and also provide a natural scaffolding that prompts your body’s natural production of collagen for a long-lasting improvement of skin elasticity and volume.
The Silhouette InstaLift sutures are small, thread-like structures that have bi-directional cones made from poly-L-lactic acid that is naturally aborbed by your skin over the course of about two years. The thin sutures help anchor your underlying facial tissues to a lifted, more youthful position instantaneously.
- Key Benefits
- Glossary
- Immediate Lifting Effect: The procedure provides an immediate lift to sagging facial tissues, offering visible results right after the treatment.
- Minimally Invasive: Unlike traditional facelifts, the Silhouette InstaLift is minimally invasive, involving small incisions and the use of absorbable sutures, leading to a quicker and easier recovery.
- Collagen Stimulation: The sutures used in this procedure stimulate collagen production in the skin, which can improve skin quality and firmness over time.
- Natural-Looking Results: The lifting effect is achieved in a way that looks natural, avoiding the “pulled” look that can sometimes result from more invasive surgeries.
- Short Recovery Time: The downtime associated with Silhouette InstaLift is significantly less than that of a traditional facelift, with most patients able to resume normal activities quickly.
- Reduced Facial Wrinkles and Sagging: The procedure effectively reduces the appearance of wrinkles and sagging, particularly in the mid-face area, by repositioning and lifting the skin.
- Customizable to Individual Needs: The placement of the sutures can be customized based on individual facial structure and specific aesthetic goals.
- Long-Lasting Effects: While not permanent, the effects of the Silhouette InstaLift can last several years, depending on factors like age, skin quality, and lifestyle.
- Low Risk of Complications: Being minimally invasive, the procedure carries a lower risk of complications compared to traditional surgical facelifts.
- No General Anesthesia Required: The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia, reducing risks associated with general anesthesia.
- Absorbable Sutures: Special sutures used in Silhouette InstaLift that are gradually absorbed by the body over time.
- Bidirectional Cones: Tiny cone-like structures on the Silhouette InstaLift sutures that help lift and reposition the skin and subdermal tissue.
- Collagen Stimulation: The process of stimulating the body’s natural production of collagen, a key benefit of Silhouette InstaLift, which improves skin firmness and elasticity.
- Dermal Thickness: The thickness of the dermal layer of the skin, relevant in determining candidacy for Silhouette InstaLift.
- Facial Rejuvenation: The process of restoring a youthful appearance to the face, which Silhouette InstaLift aims to achieve.
- Local Anesthesia: Anesthesia administered in a specific area to numb it, commonly used during the Silhouette InstaLift procedure.

- Polyglycolide/L-lactide (PLGA): The biocompatible and biodegradable material from which Silhouette InstaLift sutures are made.
- Recovery Time: The period required for healing after the Silhouette InstaLift procedure, generally shorter than traditional facelift recovery time.

What can Silhouette InstaLift treat?
While the InstaLift isn’t a full substitute for a facelift, we’ve found that a large number of our patients who have early signs of sagging, jowling, and skin laxity can benefit greatly from the procedure.
When you schedule a private consultation with one of our cosmetic surgeons, they’ll listen to your concerns and examine your face, paying particular attention to the quality of your skin and how severe your concerns are. While only they can tell you whether or not an InstaLift or other procedure will work best to meet your needs, patients who get great results from the InstaLift have a few things in common:
- Mild or moderate sagging, folding in the cheeks, or jowling along the jaw
- The desire for a subtle lift
- Skin that isn’t too thick
Patients with deep-set wrinkles or significant wrinkles may be more satisfied with the results we can achieve through facelift surgery.
What is the InstaLift procedure like?
The InstaLift procedure typically takes around 45 minutes to an hour and is performed in our office using only local anesthesia. Using two very thin needles, your surgeon will insert the device through two small points on each side of your face, adjusting the tension of the suture to achieve the most natural looking lift.
Because you will not be under general anesthesia, we’ll be able to adjust the sutures in a way that works well with your dynamic facial movements—and you won’t have to deal with the post-anesthesia hangover. There are no incisions, and the small needles used typically only cause minor swelling, mild bruising, and slight tenderness for a day or so.
You’ll notice the improvement right away, and you’ll get to enjoy additional improvement as your collagen rebuilds and the quality of your skin improves. Patients can expect to have a firmer, more lifted appearance for years to come.
