- Improved Nose Shape: When used to perform a non-surgical rhinoplasty (or “liquid nose job”) fillers can temporarily improve nose shape and contour without the need for surgery.

- Collagen: A structural protein in the skin that provides elasticity, often boosted by certain types of dermal fillers.
- Cross-Linking: A process to bond molecules in some dermal fillers, creating a longer-lasting gel-like substance.

- Filler Migration: The movement of filler material from the original injection site to a different area.

- Hyaluronidase: An enzyme that can dissolve hyaluronic acid-based fillers, used to reverse filler effects or correct overfilling.
- Injection Site: The area where dermal fillers are injected into the skin.

- Poly-L-lactic Acid: A biodegradable synthetic substance in some fillers, known for collagen stimulation.
- Reversible Fillers: Fillers, especially those based on hyaluronic acid, that can be dissolved if needed.
- Subcutaneous: Referring to the tissue layer beneath the skin where fillers are often injected.

- Volume Loss: The decrease in facial volume due to aging or other factors, addressable with dermal fillers.
What is the procedure like?
During your injectable treatment, tiny amounts of filler are injected into your face through very fine needles. The treatments typically take less than 30 minutes, depending how many areas are treated.
While some discomfort is to be expected, most of our patients report that it is very tolerable. If you are concerned, we can apply a topical anesthetic to the area to ensure your comfort. After treatment, it’s normal to experience some redness, tenderness, or even bruising around the injection sites. These side effects should resolve fairly quickly, and icing the area can help alleviate any pain.
You can resume most activities immediately following injections, as long you are gentle with the treated areas.
Lasting, Natural Results
When performed by a qualified injector, you can expect to enjoy natural-looking, lasting results. The type and brand of filler you receive will determine how long your results will last, but will typically be anywhere in between 6 months and a year – though some brands last up to 5 years!
Because filler injections are so versatile, results are incredibly individual as well! Filler benefits include lessened lines and wrinkles, fuller cheeks, more youthful eyes, plumper lips, a contoured nose, or a stronger chin. During your consultation, our expert injectors will discuss your skin concerns, take a look at your unique anatomy, and let you know what kind of results you can expect from filler treatment. No matter which injectable you choose, we are here to help you reach your goals and see nothing short of exceptional results!

Filler services at Ahava Medspa & Inland Cosmetic Surgery
Juvéderm® Family of Fillers
Juvéderm fillers are a smooth gel formulated with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring component of your skin that provides moisture. We use them to contour the face and fill in facial depressions such as the nasolabial folds, forehead wrinkles, nasal furrows, and more. The Juvéderm family of dermal fillers also contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic that increases patient comfort during treatment.
- Juvéderm XC: Corrects mild-to-moderate fine lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth for 6 to 12 months
- Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC: Smooths moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth for up to a year
- Juvéderm VOLUMA XC: Lift and contour the cheeks and address age-related drooping for up to 2 years
- Juvéderm VOLLURE XC: Smooths nasolabial folds, smile lines, pre-jowl folds, and marionette lines for up to 18 months
- Juvéderm VOLBELLA XC: Subtly enhances the size and shape of the lips while minimizing vertical lip lines for around a year
Restylane® Family of Fillers
The family of Restylane fillers is also formulated with hyaluronic acid to provide long-lasting results that look and feel natural. Like Juvéderm, some of the Restylane dermal fillers also include lidocaine to help offset any discomfort during treatment.
- Restylane-L: Improves moderate-to-severe wrinkles and folds or enhance the lips.
- Restylane Silk: Provides subtle lip enhancement and smooth fine vertical lines.
- Restylane Lyft: Restores lost volume to the mid-face for a smoother, lifted look
- Restylane Refyne: Treats moderate smile laugh lines for up to a year
- Restylane Defyne: Smooths deeper, more severe creases around the mouth and nose for up to a year
Radiesse®
Radiesse helps rebuild shape, and its primary function is to structure. Developed with safety, durability, and longevity in mind, Radiesse is a dermal filler made with very tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres.
These create a scaffolding effect in the skin, on which your own natural collagen grows to produce a long-term effect. Radiesse can be used for contouring nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheek augmentation, non-surgical rhinoplasty, and jaw line and chin augmentation.
Belotero®
Formulated with hyaluronic acid, Belotero helps restore volume and elasticity to the mid-face while reducing common signs of aging. This filler is ideal for rejuvenating under the eyes, vertical lines on the lips for a subtle plump, or nasolabial folds around the corner of the mouth.
Bellafill®
Bellafill is a collagen-based injectable filler mixed with polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) spheres. It is the longest lasting FDA approved filler for smoothing smile lines and nasolabial folds, in addition to improving the appearance of moderate to severe acne scarring. Bellafill can last up to 5 years, making it a wonderful choice for long-lasting results! Our experienced cosmetic surgeons can use Bellafill to perform a non-surgical facelift for patients who are good candidates for treatment.
Sculptra®
Unlike hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers, Sculptra is composed of poly-L-lactic acid. This injectable works differently from fillers, which sit below the skin—instead, Sculptra stimulates your body to produce its own collagen. This means that the final results will continue to develop for about 4-8 weeks following your injection, leading to a very natural appearance. The effects last for about 2-3 years. Sculptra is an excellent option for patients needing to restore a larger amount of volume in the face.
